It’s spring break week in our area, and while th It’s spring break week in our area, and while that doesn’t usually mean anything to us, this year it feels like we need a break too. We have a lot of extra appointments in town this week, so I think we’re just going to focus on a little spring reset. I’m tidying up the school room this morning, and love the simple beauty of the serviceberry blooms that Ryan brought in yesterday. He has a talent for weaving nature and learning and truth, goodness, and beauty into daily life. So this week we will just focus more on those things without all the extras.

We’re learning how to grow our own mushrooms thi We’re learning how to grow our own mushrooms this year. Ryan and the children spent the evening inoculating logs and wood chips with shiitake, oyster, and wine caps. They all love mushrooms, and hopefully we’ll have plenty starting next year. We’re excited to see how this process goes!
